Perhaps the largest growing skateboard population destination in the Southern part of the United States,  Georgia has become a growing hotbed for skateboarders and skate parks.   While the popularity of skateboarding has not reached the levels of California or New York, the growth of skateboard parks in Georgia has taken off since the year 2000.

With the main campus of the University of Georgia, Athens has become a popular skateboarding location in Georgia. With beautiful weather year around, many northern skateboarders make the trek to Georgia to enjoy winter skateboarding when parks close in the north.
